Rob Oppenheim, Director of Tennis (standing center), upon being named the recipient of the Ned Weld award during a ceremony at the International Tennis Hall of Fame, Newport, RI.

Rob Oppenheim is the Director of Tennis. A native of Hamden, Connecticut, Rob played junior tournament tennis in New England and established himself as one of the top competitors in each age category. He played college tennis at the University of Wisconsin, where he competed as both a singles and doubles player. He has coached as an assistant with Yale’s tennis program, and he has taught aspiring juniors at several regional clubs in the New Haven and Fairfield County area. Rob continues to compete at a high level, using his trademark backhand and sound movement. His love of the game drives his commitment to teaching others. His dedication toward enhancing the opportunities of under-privileged children through the gains of tennis and education has served him well in previous roles with Norwalk Grass Roots Tennis.

Rob is a middle school teacher in Norwalk, CT, and lives with his wife and two sons in Hamden, CT.
