The goal of the College Advisory Program is to increase college accessibility for our under-resourced high school students. We work with students throughout high school to develop a competitive resume and college application.
Volunteers provide tutoring throughout the school year in our College and Career Center to ensure students remain on a college-preparatory path.
College visits are arranged, transportation is provided, and students receive assistance and coaching with resume-building and interviewing skills.
Students receive guidance toward developing a list of colleges and universities to which they will apply, taking intellectual interests, location, size, cultural fit, and affordability into consideration.
Students receive guidance and coaching with respect to the standardized testing schedule, in order to ensure that they are taking all the necessary tests at optimal times.
Seniors receive guidance in the development of their personal statement and supplemental essays, as well as support and coaching in the completion of their college and financial aid applications.
